It depends on you and your body. It is far easier if you breastfeed to loose the excess "baby" weight and depends on how much you exercise and how you eat.

I lost 10 extra pounds by the time my daughter was 6 months old. I just ate healthy and did a lot of walking with my daughter. I was NEVER able to lose weight before I was pregnant. Afterward, it just fell off. Make sure you eat your fruits and veggies and drink lots of water. TIP: This is just a suggestion. I am not a big fruit/veggie eater. I made myself eat a fruit and/or vegetable with every meal, and I ate them before I ate everything else. That way, you get them out of the way (save the best for last philosophy) and you get all the nutrients they provide, and you are less hungry when you start eating the stuff that's not so healthy so you don't pig out on it. Also, eat when you are hungry, not when the clock says it's dinner time. This works wonders, but isn't easy, especially if you are working since you only get a certain time to eat. If you get a specific time frame for lunch. Skip the lunch and keep a snack (a healthy one) available (at your desk if you have one) for when you are hungry. I would always keep a chopped up apple or a banana in my purse for a quick bite.

It's usually easier the younger you are, and more so with the first. If you breastfeed and don't overeat but eat healthy food, most of the weight should come off quickly. At 6 weeks you can usually start working out. With my first I was down to my pregnancy weight in 6 weeks and I had gained 50 pounds, and had had a c-section. With my second, three years later, I gained the same, had a vaginal birth (at home) but those last 10 pounds lingered until my daughter was a year and a half, even though I was still nursing.
It's easier to keep the weight off in the first place than try to lose it after! So eat healthy and walk a lot.

For some its easy and for some its very hard. Example i am actually lighter then i was when i got pregnant and my son is 11 weeks old. Ive lost 40 lbs since giving birth to him and only gained 23 which actually by the time i left the hospital i had lost it all. I have a friend that it took 1 year for her to lose 25 pounds.

I think it is hard to get back to where you was because your body just stretches out of shape , some people though lose the weight rather quickly but others like me will never see a size 5 ever again. If you are small build i think you will get back to that size if you eat right

It depends on a lot of things. Were you is pretty good shape before you got pregnant, that is some of it. Also, my daughter gained 50 lbs, but a lot of that was water retention. She had lost over 35 lbs. at her 6-week checkup. Also, breastfeeding does help a lot. Breastfeeding helps you burn calories. Don't be too hard on yourself, eat a healthy diet and take of yourself. Having a new baby is stressful, so don't stress too much about taking off the weight too fast. Take care of yourself and your new little one. The rest will happen in good time.

nothing in life comes easy. but heres what i did. don't give in to the junk food craving while pregnant. eat right and walk often. then once you have the child cut a few calories and start jogging and some light wieght training. lost the baby weight twice so far( once for both times i had a baby im pregnant again now.) As long as you work on it you will lose it too.

well it depends on the person,
they are some persons who can get back in shape after couple of months.some will take more months or a year to come back. some are getting a hard time & never gets back in their previous shape.

you can get back to shape easily if you realy wanted to & you will do everything to be back in shape.

For me it was easy. i have 3 kids and i'm at 110 pounds and i have a 9 month old. But it also depends if you were in good shape pre-pregnancy.

My ex-wife left the hospital after having the baby weighing less than before she was pregnant. She was young and petite though. I'd say eat a low-fat diet and join the gym to exercise and get on the stairsteppers and treadmills.
