Hi Chalupa, I'm certainly not intimidated by girls that are financially independent, it's part of growing up, proving to yourself that you can make it without help. It's important. I went away to boarding school when I was 9 and then moved to Israel when I was 17 so haven't really depended on my parents for a very long time. I respect independence in others. I'm not so sure about emotional independence though, being kind of emotionally aloof. I like the part when your in love and you can say wow I want to spend my time with this person and no-body else will do.

I love independant women.
It lets me know they will not sponge off of me.
I would say boys are intimitated by a girl that doesnt rely on them, A man can appreciate a strong confident woman.

Somewhat intimidated, yes, but they also find it a turn-on. Guys don't want girls who are needy or unfulfilled without men. They like to be challenged. Personally, I'd choose my independence over men, even if they liked it.

Yes dey iz gurrrrl!
A man can't stand for a woman to be too damned independent, have her own opinions, and not afraid to speak up for herself, or say what's on her mind...AND STICK TO IT! Especially if she's the type who likes to do things and go places on her own.
You are so right!
"indepentent" = "independent"
