I've been having this debate with someone about Donnie McClurkin's sexual preference-and she happens to be Black, like me. Here was her last entry, followed by my answer. Read carefully, and then give me your opinion.
Message: homosexuality is a choice 4 some those not born w/some kind of glandular disease or something of that nature. pls don't go there w/me; God made Adam & Eve not Adam & Steve; the rear is an exit not an entrance; look what comes out of it s..t! so that form of sex is disgusting and physically harmful no less! u have the choice 2 believe what u want. i don't judge but i know right f/wrong. hey he could've a *** til his 30's but i hope 2 God he is sincere 4 his own sake and is not anymore and if he's not, the person that took his soul is rotting in hell no matter what u believe/say. i don't buy into that blacks should buy into the "white" agenda of "accepting" homosexuality - as soon as we "buy" into their way of life we get more screwed up. Genocide is going down now big time. U go along w/their program if u want 2. i don't buy the white hype!

My answer: I guess we have to agree 2 disagree on this 1. I don't for the life of me believe homosexuality is a choice. How do you explain kids that haven't been exposed to homosexuality or haven't been abused who turn out that way? I once knew a little boy who had been raised w/ a fairly great upbringing by ALL heterosexual men who turned out extremely feminine by the time he was only 5---that little boy grew up to be a very GAY man. If Mclurkin's story was enough to explain his gayness, then maybe you would accept the fact that my cousin was molested by her father for YEARS, and turned out a lesbian. If that was the case, shouldn't she be MORE attracted to men? How do you explain that away? She's got a 'disease'? Please, girl. Blood comes out of vaginas and p!ss comes out of the same hole that men c*m out of, so what comes out of our bodies has little or nothing to do with our sexual preference, so spare me the details. That type of sex is disgusting? Who are you to say what is-

-and isn't? Does it say somewhere in the Bible the only 'right' sex is vaginal? Cuz if it does-I missed that part. Oh, and being gay is a 'White' way of life? LOL...wow I was under the impression that most of the Bible took place in Africa-where Black people lived(i.e.Sodom and Gomorrah?)...I say you need to read your scripture a little more, judge people a little less(that's the Lord's job), and open your heart up ALL the way and accept people regardless of who they prefer to sleep with.

@ destiny-gayness as a choice is not a Christian's POV, it's a bigoted POV. Where does it say in the Bible that WE are supposed to judge. I'm a Christian, and the only scripture I can think of right now is "He who is without sin, let he cast the 1st stone"...Are you without sin?

2006-12-15 04:54:30 · update #3

@ Miss Kitae-I think you completely misunderstood the question. The one who is saying being gay is a choice is NOT ME. It was someone else who I totally disagreed with-please read the entire question, along with my answer to her ridiculous opinion.

Wow, I love your answer and I wish I could come up with some of that stuff when defending homosexuals to ignorant people.
In my opinion being gay is definitely something that you are born being, just like I am born being heterosexual and I can't change that no matter what happens in my life.

You quoted; "He who is without sin cast the first stone"

Who are you to cast stones in the first place?

Okay, I don't care what color or race you hail from, but I must admit you pose an interesting (albeit scientifically unfounded) question.

You're hailing from a religious standpoint, which turns a lot of people off from the get-go. Your religious background and learnings might be different from someone else's; thus giving leeway to opposition telling you your points are moot.

Telling someone you think they'll be rotting in hell for their choices doesn't matter to them, because they obviously don't believe the same things you do. You're more than entitled to your own opinion, but lots of other people won't give a damn.

Your view on sexual positioning is one generally performed by men, what about women? You attack homosexual men, why not women?

You "know" what is right and wrong based on your own feelings; anyone else can think something completely different is right and true.

A serial killer "knows" he's doing the right thing by killing people, does that mean he's KNOWS what's right from wrong like you do?

And why did you drag the race issue into this? If everything is to boil down to the "black" way versus the "white" way, perhaps you should be attacking slavery and segragation rather than the issue of homosexuality.

"i don't buy the white hype!"

So don't, but keep in mind that it's not all a "white hype" and if you have that big a problem with "white" people in general, go back to the place your ancestors came from, find the village they lived in and start over again. It was the great black hype in the ninties, the return to Africa.

Maybe you should start it up again, spare yourself the "white hype".

>> homosexuality is a choice 4 some those not born w/some kind of glandular disease or something of that nature.

No. No it's not. Sexual preference isn't a choice. Here's the American Psychological Association's website on the information.

http://www.apa.org/pi/lgbc/publications/justthefacts.html

>> the rear is an exit not an entrance; look what comes out of it s..t!

Then why did 'god' stick a pleasure centre (the prostate) there in men? ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostate )

>> so that form of sex is disgusting and physically harmful no less!

Safe as any other sex, when properly using a condom.

>> i don't buy into that blacks should buy into the "white" agenda of "accepting" homosexuality

Ah. So homosexuality is strictly a "white" thing? No blacks have ever been gay? What a load of racist, bigoted, trash.

I have never believed it was a choice. From the moment I see a gay person I can usually pick up their orientation, not always but mostly. If it is that obvious then there are differences. All of us are influenced by nature and nurture. A study showed that gay men had sisters that had a higher amount of children than the sisters of non gay men. They thought this was natures way during cavemen times, of helping out with the protection of the children. An extra male to hunt and not be bogged down with a family of his own. This shows that homosexuality is part of nature and has a benefit, the person has no choice. I don't understand all the hostility toward them.

I believe its a choice for some. Other's are born with it. Science has shown that in many cases, a tendency towards homosexuality is genetic. Other times, a traumatic event in their childhood will force them to lose all interest in the opposite sex. Psychology shows this. But no matter what the cause of it is, they should be allowed to follow their heart and love whomever they want to, just the same as us heterosexuals.

Peace,
Byron

Sexual orientation is not a choice, whether homosexual or heterosexual. We are not born with a sexual orientation. That is acquired through early childhood experience with adults of both sexes. God doesn't condemn anyone for their sexual orientation, normal or abnormal. However, God has made it perfectly clear how he wants people to behave sexually. Sexual behavior, like all behavior, certainly IS a choice. If we choose to disobey God in our sexual behavior, homosexual or heterosexual, we will pay the price, eternally.

Its not a choice at all, AT ALL.

You have to be born with some kind of sexual preference, you either like men or women, or both.

And before I can even take who ever said that seriously, hes going to have to stop typing like a 10 year old. Damn at least learn to f***ing type before you go saying stupid stuff. I believe in God and all and I dont mind Gay people.

Sounds like your way of excusing homosexuals from their sin. Next you will be excusing child molesters and incest by saying people are born with it. I think you are wrong homosexuals have a diseased mind. But at least they are adult and make their own choice by free will. So as for as I'm concerned right on homosexuals. If that's your thing right on. xx

For many it is. For some it is not. Either way, being gay is not a sin. Participating in homosexual acts, is. There is a huge difference.

I agree with you, I do not believe that being gay is a choice just as I don't believe that being straight is a choice. I believe we are who we are when we are born.
