My daughter watched Finding Nemo about ten times a day for about a year I figured as long as she is getting something from it whats the harm of course I could live the rest of my life and be very happy if I never ever ever ever see a Clown fish again but hey That's me she has grown out of it and is on to the Care Bears and My Little Pony now and I wish those were half or even 1-10th of as good as Nemo so count your blessings that its not something like what I am currently enduring (yet anyway)

My kids were like that - my son LOVED Lion King and Lion King 2 Simba's Pride! He would act out the scenes with his sisters - they would be on the floor and he would be up on the bed roaring!
They will get over it soon enough. Try just sneaking in a new movie - and sit down with him to make him watch it.

My 2cents :) I have 2 little people (1 is in school, the other stays with me) in the morning, I let my youngest watch whatever movie she wants (usually Nemo or Iron Giant- no harm) while she's watching, I get my shower, do housework, and even have a cup of coffee. After her movie, the t.v. is off for the day. There are some really good websites with great activities to do with the little ones- www.fisher-price.com , www.kidscomjr.com , www.kidsrcrafty.com ...don't stop there! Pretend play is awesome for them, too :) We have a play kitchen with lots of play food and everyday (she doesn't get tired of it!) we make "soup". It's a plastic bowl filled with every piece of play food she has- we even break out our real kitchen utensils b/c it makes her project feel that much more important. ....Hope this helps a little :)

It is important to a child to have a schedule. If you designate a TV time and that is what he chooses to watch then let him he will grow out of it and watch something else later on. But just don’t let him be the leader. Make sure he deserves the privileges and talk to him about earning privileges. Also it is very important for you to spend more quality time with your child one on one than they spend in front of the television. As long as they get the attention and nurturing they need they will turn out fine. He won’t turn into a fish or a lion trust me!

Kids learn through repetition! They pick up on more things each time they see it. And kids are proud of themselves when they learn something new. They love knowing what's going to happen next. They can sing along...they can't do that with a movie they're seeing for the first time. They become a part of the movie! Ask them ?'s about the movie. Discuss the storyline, the plot, ups and downs, the emotions of the movie... Like a book report. It builds their understanding of things.

I was obsessed with annie and popeye as a kid. I grew out of it. Though my imaginary friends were the orphans from annie...
If it bothers you to have to listen to hakun matata all the time...(which would likely drive anyone to the brink of insanity), try looking for coloring books and picture/reading books with the lion king and nemo. Then institute a family movie night, where you get to sit as a family and enjoy the movies together.

You should try to find something educational and disguise it as being fun.

My uncle once got me a book about 101 at home experiments and I loved it! I must have done every crazy experiment in there. Then my mom got me a microscope one year for christmas and I was checking stuff out on there for the better part of that year. Another toy I loved was 2XL (the toy robot trivia game).

Long story short, if I stop being distracted by yahoo answers and do well on my finals on monday... I'll be getting straight A's my first semester at med school. ;-)

It's probably driving you crazy to see and hear the same things over and over, but since they are good, wholesome movies, just let the kids watch them. They soon will tire of them, and move on. If you have time, maybe you could distract the kids from the movies by doing crafts with them or reading stories.
Good Luck!!!

Turn the tv off! Children need to be playing and using their imaginations. My kids watch 30 mins of tv a day on a regular basis and Ive had babysitters tell me that they were much more creative then other children they have babysat and alot more fun to be around. TV rots brains..
