not at all tacky. people do it all the time. that's why restaurants have banquet rooms. there is nothing wrong with that sort of wedding reception. if that is what you want then do it. as for walking into the restaurant in full wedding garb, everyone loves weddings and you just may find that the other restaurant guests will give you a hand clap or at the very least some nodds and smiles.

If that's what your tastes are for, than I see no problem with it. You can decorate the private room to your tastes so it's not plain and boring. If you're not going to have wedding cake at the reception, than you may want to have a nice, sweet, decadent dessert to end the meal off with

Sounds fine! But at least have some background music playing even if there is no dancing it's nice ot have music during dinner.

And of course, the reception hosts should pay for entire dinner reception which they have planned for, coat check fees for all the guests, all gratuities, and everyone's parking. Guests should not have to pay for any of these items-- that is all the responsbiility of the host.

I have been to many wedding receptions at restaurants, they were great, no alcohol made the night very pleasant and everything went smoothly. Congratulations and have a Wonderful wedding.

We did that for our wedding. We went to an Itailan place and did not serve alcholol. It was about $850 for 25 people and we were both really happy about how it turned out.

Sounds great and intimate...except for the no alcohol part. I'd rethink that part of it.
