They see Dead People !
I have three cats ... So I know they can see them, they always stare at the same spot in the ceiling. Maybe it's a shadow or then well maybe its the devil!
LOL.

I wonder this same thing. My cat does this all the time. Not only when she wants something. For instance, after she eats she will go into the bathroom and meow, and it is like she is singing. So my finance and I just giggle because we say she is singing to herself.
When your cat does this, is the meow different from the one when he wants something? My cat has all kinds of meows, there are the "hellos", "I'm hungry", "I'm sick", "you're bothering me..." and the list goes on. When she goes into a room and meows to herself they are completely different. Almost like she is playing. Some cats are very vocal, I happen to have one who is. When I first got her, it would drive me nuts because I didn't know what she wanted. When she would do this I would always, and still do, respond with "What?" (in a mom like voice, not impatient, but inquisitive) and she meow's more.
This question could trigger a book, so... my final question is what type of cat you have? Calicos, Tortoise Shells and Russian Blues are the ones that are known to be very vocal.

Unless your cat's energy can be channeled in a positive way, he may show odd behavior. After all, he never has to worry about where his next meal is coming from, so there's no need for hunting. The frustrated cat that has surplus energy to burn, may even go berserk for half an hour, running maniacally back and fourth across the room, doing the "wall of death" etc. In order to prevent these problems occurring, ensure that your cat is always mentally stimulated and has plenty of opportunity for exercise.

i might would desire to ask what has replaced at your abode at present. New boyfriend, new litterbox, moved foodstuff dishes around, perhaps have new acquaintances or acquaintances have been given a clean puppy? Is there yet another animal putting around outdoors at present to make him sense territorial? Is he having prevalent bowel strikes and eating comparable to widely used? Is he dropping weight, vomiting, or pulling out his fur? Fleas? have you ever put in a clean equipment, carpeting, or fixtures? Hung a ceiling fan? I comprehend those sound like loopy motives, yet cats think of on an entire distinctive point than people. just about something can upset them....

My cat meows when something is different in the room. Usually something has fallen over. It's cute, it's like he's telling us to fix it.
He also meows when he wants to be played with/fed/go outside/etc.

Mine does it when it's in a new place, because it wants me beside it while it explores -- security thing.
Cats can't talk, so they have to rely on behavoir such as this to communicate with you. Try following him. He might lead you to his empty food or water dish, or dirty litterbox (my cat's done all of the above at times) or to a door that's closed or a toy that fell out of his reach.
He probably wants something; but it's not anything to worry about if you can't figure it out.

cats meow when they want something. Try engaging it in some play, he may just be crying out for some attention.
My little kitten does this sometimes, but its usually because he batted all his toys under the TV or fridge and wants me to dig them out.

Have you ever heard a baby making noises, just for the sake of making noise? Just to entertain themselves? Same with a cat.
Unless of course, they have something to say to you! :)

Mine also does that..she gets really bad when I first turn the heater on and it has the funny smell. She can smell that way before it hits any of us at home. Other times they are lonely and want attention.

It could be if they are females and arent spayed that they are in heat. They are very annoying when they are in heat, and they wont stop until they are fixed or bred. Good luck
