I have long hair, down to the lower middle of my back. When I sleep my head sweats and has started forming acne at the base of my head where the hairline starts. I try pulling my hair up over my pillow when I sleep to lessen the sweating but nothing helps.
*No I'm not cutting my hair all off before anyone suggests that*
I would just like to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what I can do about this. It is now starting to itch and getting on my nerves. Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure if some are confused, I've gotten a lot of reccomendations for face cleansing. I don't know how that helps with acne on the back of my head. I may have worded my original question wrongly. But that is where my problem is, on the back of my head at the base of the hairline. I like the answers I've gotten so far. Keep up the good work! Thanks.

I would try a shampoo/cond for severe Oily Hair/ Scalp to try and dry it out a bit and keep a fan on you at night to keep you from sweating so much. Very important to have clean white cotton pillowcase and make sure your laundry detergent isn't heavily fragranced could be having a reaction from that...are you using a new brand? I recommend using Cheer Free Detergent and Dryer Sheets they have no perfume or dyes.. or you could use any baby detergent, like Drift. Don't use bleach too harsh.
Also, When my hair gets oily and I have to run out and no time to wash it in an emergency I learned from someone this trick- use some baby powder on your scalp and work thru your hair a lil, has to be the one that says Pure Cornstarch w/vitamin e and aloe on it, something about the cornstarch absorbs oil and aloe is soothing to any inflammation. Put some on your hands and apply to scalp and gently rub in, especially around sweaty prob areas to absorb while you sleep.
Hope this helps!

You could try putting your hair in a long braid when you sleep, or a bun, but not to tight because that will cause acne around the base of the hair line as well.
Also, try to keep the room cool so you are less likely to sweat.
I don't know if this works but I would try to put a little face mask mud just along the hairline before I went to bed... maybe that would block the sweat?.

Try using a daily clarifying shampoo to get rid of the extra oil around the hairline. Also when you wash your face use an astringent around the hairline, and try an acne cream around there.

Maybe put some talcum powder on the back of your head at night? Or you could try showering every morning -- if the sweat is the problem, that should help too. Maybe even a combination of the two things.
Good luck!

Ok, you may need to tie your hair up at night and put a scarf over it. I know its not the most attractive thing, but it helps me. Get one of those ponytail holders and use that to tie it up first, then use the scarf to keep it away from your face and headline. Before going to bed, make sure you're cleaning your pores, and do it again once you get up. I hope this helps.

find a shampoo for oily hair to dry out your scalp.
tie your hair up in a ponytail all the way to the top of your head so it won't get in the way no matter which way you lay.
try keeping your room cooler to reduce overheating. put a fan on your nightstand facing you. you can snuggle up under covers, but then it will keep the air cool outside of the blankets around your head.

There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html

Yeh feels like a nasty concept, what would look fairly reliable is dye your hair and leave your pores and skin the way it really is. pretend tan seems poor on everybody. diminished pores and skin is fantastic i do not see why human beings have such an concern with it.

Tie your hair up in a bun when you go to bed. To be honest though i can't see this giving you spots maybe its the hair products you are using.
