.From my estimation when a soar throat is present usually means infection .. IE everything swollen right? Best way to reduce that swelling is cold things like ice cold orange juice. the orange juice is vitamin c . To try and not drink too many hot things as that will make mucus membranes swell We want to con track the mucus membranes not make them swell. Although when strep is present there will be tiny white pus present that defiantly requires antibiotic and for heavens sake keep away from everyone else . Ya don't need to share soar throat. get some ice pops that is great not to much juice that can get acid.causing more stomach upset. Tylenol can help with aches and pains if present. Some throat lozenges will keep throat moist.

Gurgling with salt water does help heal a sore throat more quickly. I've not heard of the apple cider vinegar one. It could work though. When I have a sore throat I take out the bottle of hot sauce from my refrigerator (which I am never without :) ) And I pour some on a plate or in a bowl. It doesn't take much. Then I consume it. It really makes my throat feel better and it may be in my mind but I really feel it helps. Good luck if you've a sore throat yourself. Have a pleasant day!

Salt water yes is a "old" remedy. You can try Listerine. The apple cider or vinegar can work but I wouldn't swallow it. It tastes bad enough just gargling....

Most sore throats are viral and will go away on there own. The only way to know it is bacterial is to have your throat swabbed for strep. That is treated with an antibiotic.
