not necessarily. All cats meow differently. Some may have a meow that may sound a bit like a bark.

Technically no, but one time I put my cat in the shower, closed the glass doors, and lightly turned on the water... and I could have sworn I heard him barking. He was trying his best to get out of that shower. It was so funny. Of course I let him out right after that. So I would say, they can make a sound similar to a bark, but not a true bark.

i think of they'd of their own way. we've an older cat and a domestic dog. The domestic dog has grown to think of that the cat is its mom for the reason that he hardly has interplay with different animals. He rarely barks and growls extra like a cat!

The closest sound that I have heard in cats is the one associated to a dog snarling. Cats don't snarl (facial expression), but they do a sound, when angry or menaced, that resembles it somehow. As for barking never heard of anything as such.

No, they can't bark.
They can mew, meow, howl, screech, and make other assorted noises, though.
If your cat sounds like he is barking, get him checked out. He may have an upper respiratory infection.

cats can make a variety of sounds, and a variety of meow's, so its possible one could make a sound similar to a bark,,,, they tend to copy what they are around, like our cat says "out" ,,,,,,most of them meow or hiss though
