People seem to think that illegal aliens are easily afforded welfare and housing, but I don"t think our government is inept or easily fooled with fake ID's. I wonder what really the numbers are or the toll these illegals take from the gov. Illegals from Laos, Thailand Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.

You grossly underestimate the stupidity of the US government.
Not only are they allowed welfare, but free health care, no taxes, free public education, and they even let them VOTE! Yes, that's right, some people are campaigning to not ask for ID's at voting boots, so that we "do not infringe on their rights"
We are just handing over the country, my friend.
Read this. It is a bill, introduced by BARAK OBAMA, which would refuse any measure to show voter identification records at voting booths!!!

Either they really are that stupid or there's another agenda as to why they are allowing it to happen. But it is happening, all the time, everyday. Some have been told even when they do suspect....to just go on with the process, it's the Federal Governments job to enforce the law, not theirs. Problem is the federal government isn't doing their job so we just keep going status quo. It's gonna be a real hurting when they do crack down though.........

FACT, illegals do draw welfare and there are plenty of documented cases and studies (even by our government who refuses to do a damn thing) to prove this point. Even if our people who work at the welfare offices could detect a fake ID there is still other free to them services that illegals receive. Schooling for their kids is tax funded. Emergency medical treatment is made mandatory by law even if they can't pay the bill so who do you think pays it? Not their home government, it is payed for by hard working, tax paying US citizens via higher health care cost (and everyone likes to ***** about health care cost and long wait times at the hospitals). Over 30% of our prison population is made up of illegal immigrants (for crimes other than being here) and we the tax payer cover that cost too. The gangs that sling their drugs on our streets have a disproportionate amount of illegal aliens so the public safety is greatly affected by illegals.
So in answer to your question YES but there are other prices we pay also.

Unfortunately our government doesn't have the sharpest knives in the drawer! So I would not be surprised one bit if Welfare Dept gives illegal immigrants benefits and welfare.
Anyone can be fooled by a fake ID. Would you be able to tell??

Running a government is very complicated but I still think some people inside are making profit of this ... some government contractors do not verify who's who, all they are interested in is getting a large subscription base so they can charge the government more.

I suppose it would depend on how good the fake IDs were, how swamped that particular welfare office was, and whether or not anyone reviewing the paperwork was attempting to verify the legitimacy of all documentation.

The truth is you have to be a citizen (or legal) to go on welfare...i think that's an assumption most of us have that the government is giving illegals welfare. I think they are smarter than that.

Why blame the welfare department only ? Why don't you ask why we are giving welfare handouts to Israel and Egypt to the tune of $6,000,000,000 (six billion) EVERY year ?
I do not think we are stupid, but we are conned into.
