No refrigeration is needed for Bourbon Balls. Simply storing them in a cool place will suffice. And only in a cool place, so they will not melt. What I've commonly seen done is storing the balls in metal tins with aluminum foil (helps to keep them cooler if stored per say in your bottom cabinet). No worries for food poisoning, the alcohol and high sugar concentrations inhibit growth of any dangerous levels of bacteria or mold. If someone shows signs of food poisoning from eating them, odds are they've had several dozen in one sitting.
But to answer your question more directly, you can refrigerate them if you wish, but it is not necessary.

I actually just made rum balls last night. We've made them frequently for Xmas. We have never refrigerated them, & indeed no, there is nothing perishable & fragile in them to necessitate refrigeration. As long as you keep them in a tightly-lidded container, they shouldn't dry out.
Alcohol has antiseptic properties, so it shouldn't really be possible to make people sick if using raw egg yolks. Raw egg shouldn't be neceesary to make these treats anyway, but if they were, the alcohol will help kill off bacteria, hence the continued safe imbibing of homemade egg nog today. Also, unless an individual eats the equivalent of a whole batch themselves, the alcohol is too dispersed in quantity to make anyone sick from alcohol.

I hope you use the wine for healing wounds, but don't drink any alcoholic beverages...if you have to, then stand firm and stubborn and spill it all in the toilet.
