according to the last book i read, Running actually makes your stomach look more protruded.. but it's not that u add more fat there, it's just that when you run, your lower back curves and so protrudes your stomach..
you must add abd exercises to tone your stomach specially when you run.

Not as much, nowhere near as much, as doing exercises that use stomach muscles.

Like bending over from the waste, to pick light things up off the floor, that motion?

Also crunches if you're back is ok.

Even walking can help, too. Much lower impact, stress wise, than running.

Burns off an amazing amout of calories, too! Legs are big fat burning muscles. They use so many calories they will burn off a little extra stomach fat, too. They can burn a large amount, too. But ya probably don't have that, if ya did, they could.

You will need to do a combination of cardio and toning exercises as well as eat a proper diet in order to tone your stomach.

Yes, it will. Cardio is what burns enough calories to burn off fat, and in order to see any muscles you may have or build on your abs, you have to get rid of the layer of fat first. Ab toning exercises burn VERY FEW calories, hence they're not effective at burning off fat (about 3,500 calories= 1 pound of fat).
Running burns off a lot of calories, hence it helps you lose weight quicker. Also, you can hold in your abs on & off while you run, which means you are adding resistance to your abs while running, so you can help build the muscles at the same time.

Yes. Everyone has six pack abs, some people just have a layer of fat covering them. There's no such thing as spot redcution. Stomach exercises will strengthen your ab muscles but cardio will actually burn off the calories so that you can see them. Good luck!

I don't think running is very affective for abs. Do pilates!! That's what I do. My abs have never looked better! Flat and toned! I live in a bikini mow!!
