Here it is: Anytime I insert a cd in the cd player of a 2000 Ford Focus, it starts clicking continuously and then it spits the cd back out. The guy at the ford dealer says it'll cost me $350 to fix, but I dont have that kind of money. Has anyone ever had a similar problem or know what to do? Any help would be appreciated! Thank You!

I'm not sure that this will help you at all but the CD player in my '97 Toyota Corolla was broken for many years. A cd got stuck in it because it all of a sudden lost all power. I figured all was lost until one day my battery died. After I had the battery replaced, my cd player magically turned on. I think the disconnection of power fixed it somehow. I don't think this will help you but it may be like pounding on a tv to get it to turn back on (and it will reset your radio presets.)

If it's stock I would of thrown it out in 2000 and installed a after market one. like a alpine or kenwood you can pick up a head unit and some decent speakers for $350

Take it out, take it apart, and look at it. There is probably some debris jamming a mechanism. Things mysteriously get shoved in the slot. If kids have ever been in your car, consider it a frequent cleaning ritual.

For $350 you could take it to Audio express and get a bad *** system installed.

I'd say go shopping for a new system with free install and dump the factory one.

buy an aftermarket for about 100 dollars and have them install it for 50

Or get a factory original one from the junkyard for 50 and they may install it for 50

You can probably get a whole new stereo for less than that, and it'd be better than the factory model.
