The weather's fairly decent in late May in Beijing. It starts to get warmer then but has yet to hit the crazy heat wave in July/August/September. However, there may be the occasional sandstorms although I've only experienced it once in my 2 years in Beijing, and it wasn't in May.

And don't count on there being clear skies most days. It's usually dusty and cloudy. Then again, the weather in Beijing is very temperamental, unpredictable.

It should be the best time in Beijing! As a local Beijinger, I chose that time go back to Beijing! It's not too hot yet, and already past the time of the sand storms, plus everywhere is blooming flowers and fresh green. You don't have to pack too many clothes, just travel light. If you can have choice, go to Beijing at that time!
