I am a woman with a true weight problem, every pound that I lose I have to fight for it, so I can attest that the quick fix, lose 12 pounds in 10 days diets will not stay off, and will come back with a vengeance. I've tried just about every diet on the market, and the best one thus far is Weight Watchers. I don't attend meetings, I signed up on line. You can literally eat anything you want, no restriction, as long as you stay in your range, and after doing the diet for a few weeks, it becomes a lifestyle. I have not avoided eating out, parties, etc. Of course, if you need the support than the meetings are your answer.
And, no diet will be as effective unless you add exercise. It goes hand in hand. There is no easy way to do it, it takes will and determination.
Good Luck! You can do it if you put yourself in the right frame of mind, and remember do it for YOU... and no one else.

i am 240 lbs i was 255 pounds at one point. to lose weight you have to follow the basic formula of life. Eat only the food/energy you need and dont eat when your bored, exercise 30 minutes a day, thats not a lot, at all, 30 minutes your probably on this website more than that. find time to exercise, the funny thing is that you probably already know what you need to do, its just that you have no willpower. Willpower comes from the heart a passion to lose weight. find yourself then youll find a gym. Good Luck.

Short term: Starve like in the nazi concentration camps...guaranteed to lose weight
Long term: Join a health club and develop a RELIGIOUS HABIT of working out every other day. After you lose all the weight, you can eat freely and still not gain weight. Just think of all the positive benefits to exercise......

Drink grapefruit juice for breakfast - it actually burns calories for you. During the day, substitute peanuts in the shell for any snacks. Two or three peanuts at a time keeps you from getting hungry and the shelled ones keep your hands occupied (makes you feel like you're working for something).
Start walking 20 minutes a day. Any diet must be accompanied with physical exercise and walking is the best exercise that you can do for yourself.
