Toyota Camry Japan

Other than the vin number...

On all 2007 Camrys, Japanese ones will have hooks underneath the front and rear side of the car. These are used during shipping. Also if your Camry is shipped overseas, there will be a small sqaure shaped plastic panel on the front bumper. During shipping, the panel pops out to reveal yet another hook.

For 2007 models, usually only the XLE and hybrid models are imported from Japan.

If the first character of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is either a 1 or a 4, it was assembled in the United States

If the first character if the VIN is 2 it was assembled in Canada

If the first character if the VIN is 3 it was assembled in Mexico

If the first character if the VIN is J it was assembled in Japan

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

If the VIN starts with A it was built in America. Look for it on the dashboard all the way to the left, or on the inside door sill on the drivers side. VIN= vehicle identification number.

The first character of the VIN tells you which country the FINAL assembly was in, however now a days, vehicle components are made all over the world.
J=Japan
1=North America
2=Canada
3=Mexico
K=Korea
etc.....

If you look at he first 3 digits in your vehicles vin # (located in the drivers side lower corner of the windshield) if one of them is a J (the 2nd one I think) it was built in Japan
