Those who tell you Wal-Mart or other major retailers are mistaken or confused. Microsoft no longer produces the original X-box. Once the 360 was released, retailers discontinued sell of the original.
If you want to buy one now, it will more that likely be used. Like a previous poster mentioned, GameStop would be a good place to look. Also eBay and other individual seller sites. With the release of the PS3 and Wii, there may be a few 360s on the market in coming weeks.

well it depends on where you live i live here in southern california and i have not seen a store like walmart best buy circuitcity etc that sell the original xbox. i have only seen the xbox 360. however i did buy an xbox from my local gamestop store used for 110$ and it works great but if u cant find one in stores try online stores like ebay or those online shopping comparison stores like bizrate.com yahooshopping.com froogle.com etc etc hope that helps

Great for finding out what they offer and compare it to what you need.
