Animals DO feel pain; but do not suffer.

People experience pain but seem to insist on carrying their suffering around with them all if the time instead of leaving it where it belongs (in the past) because they are not in pain now.

I can bear a certain amount of pain- after that, I pass out or get meds to help.

Do gods allow for pain and painful acts? Some actually thrive on them - that is their modus operandi.

Do animals feel pain - yes. When they are killed for meat - maybe. I do know that the execution methods are meant to be as swift and painless as possible though- at least in commercial meat processing plants. Federal law and all.
