I think my Jack Russell may have gotten pregnant by a neighborhood Bassett Hound ( he broke into our fence)...Should I get her an abortion? Will these puppies be too big for her? This would be her second litter the first were Corgis. What should I do?

An abortion may be the best thing, and then to shut all the idiots here wasting their time telling you what you should have done instead of what you should do now, end this question with telling them you got her spayed, weather or not you did. Having the fence broken down is not your fault, and spaying is a PERSONAL CHOICE for you to make, because sometimes even people with no intention of breeding still want the option open so that later on in the dogs life, like before her health starts to decline but she's still getting on in years you can carry on her memory through a pup that will outlive her.
Like I said, tell the public what they want to hear and when you have a controversial question, ask it as though it were hypothetical and you were just curious. You'll get far less @$$holes putting you down.
But yeah, enough of my advice on a question you didn't ask. As for the puppies, I'd abort and not worry rather than wonder if letting the pregnancy come to term would kill my dog. I'd talk to a vet and get an expert opinion, though, before a real decision is made. Asking here is just going to get you yelled at for being "irrisponsible" for "letting" a dog get to your girl when you probably weren't paying attention and thought everything was secure.

I am not a veterinarian, but you could probably take the dog in, have it examined, and he could tell you more about it. The dog would probably not be able to carry the puppies properly, and might result in much worse trouble than just dead puppies. I would find something out soon, since dogs only carry puppies for about three months, she will be getting big in no time.

Looks like you got lots of good answers. Ask a vet if unsure. She will probably be fine. They ought to be some cute puppies!

well, if you want the pups, talk to your vet, it will probably be ok to carry them, but may need help with the actual birth (i think they can do c-sections on dogs)

if you dont want her to have the pups, they can abort them, but your vet might make you spay her in the process. and if you dont want to have this happen again, you should really get her spayed. i know the other dog got into your yard, but males will do whatever it takes to get to a female in heat, so its going to keep happening if it has the chance.

Could be to big for her to have. Really would call a vet on that one. Then you can decide what you want to do. That is a strange combo.
Good luck and Merry Xmas

Yikes! Why didn't you get her spayed before your first "oops" litter? I'm sure you're aware that the shelters everywhere are full, full, full of unwanted puppies. So yes, have the pregnancy terminated, and please spay your dog!

Yes, get her to the vet and while you're there, get her spayed since you can't seem to keep her safe!
