Presuming you believe in God. Do you believe that all truth is from God? And do you believe that there can be truth outside of the Bible (ex. some cups are made of plastic)?

Cptn. Atheism-does the Bible contradict science? I don't see the contradiction... although some people's interpretation may contradict the Bible or science.

David M.-how can you categorically say that "Christians don't like truth"? I am a Christian and I love learning! Careful not to be prejudice.

Jesus said, 'I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE.'
If the truth, like your cups of plastic, do not contradict the Bible, then it can be a true statement.

Of course, the truth that some cups are made of plastic isn't in the bible. lol And another thing along that line. Just because you speak the truth doesn't mean it's always of God. For instance someone goes up to someone else and says, "You're fat!" Yes, that may be the truth but that's not of God because it wasn't said in love. So there are afew twists to it. It's not all black and white.

That is just the total and utter arrogance of the modern day Christian!!!!
Whilst Christianity may or may not be the worlds largest religion it is a straight fact that the vast majority of people on Earth are not Christian.
Truth, morals and all the other good things are not 'owned' by anyone or any God.
Christians do not like truth, or anything that does not totally agree with their beliefs. Especially when the Bible says that Christ loved and desired the sinner more than the Christian. What a man of taste and discernment!!!

Well since the Bible says nothing at all about things we know are truth, like your example, then there *must* be truth outside of the Bible.

Unfortunately, God is more closely associated with untruth.
For example, the bible is full of errors regarding the nature of the universe, creation, etc. If this is the word of god, then he's either a liar, or painfully inept.
Edit - The earth is not 6000 years old, and it was not created in 6 days. That's an obvious one there. And if you want to say not to take the bible literally, then you're being intellectually dishonest. The bible says what it says. And it is wrong. If you choose to believe a "diluted" version of the bible, then you are in effect, creating your own religion. And this is described in the bible as worshipping the "golden calf".

Of course not.
I deffinately believe assorted scriptures were divinely inspired other than the bible.
Truth is the truth according to a human being's understanding.
God's truth is higher than any human is able to reach, and it is the height of arrogance for ANY one to say they have realized God's truth, or say they have received the literal word of God.

God and truth have little to do with each other. Truth exists. God doesn't.
