I think the only disqualifying felony is drug related offenses.
The website below is the government aid website it will tell you there for sure.

I also filled out the FASFA form and qualified for grants. You can call your financial aid councilor and they should be able to give you an update by now. And no you do not have to make straight A's either. You do have a grade obligation though. I believe it is either a GPA of 2.0 or 3.0 talk to your councilor for more information on that though. They will know. I have a 4.0 so this is something I have never worried about. If you do not qualify for full aid then you can get deferred student loans. This means you do not have to pay anything until 6 months after you graduate. I went with Sallie Mae. It is a great company. They gave me more than what I actually needed. They send you a check in the mail for the difference. You can either cash it or give it back if you do not want to repay that amount later. The interest is not high either with them so that is why I picked them. Good luck with school!!!

Yes, you can. Federal aid is more difficult, but that's not the only financial aid availabe.
The question on the FAFSA (which is for FEDERAL aid only) asks about *convictions* for possessing or selling illegal drugs (not including alcohol and tobacco).
It doesn't count convictions that have been removed from your record OR convictions that occurred before you turned 18, unless you were tried as an adult.
You can get NON-FEDERAL financial aid from most programs. But be sure to check out scholarships and other free money first.

if your charges was of a drug conviction and you were receiving financial aid at the same time, then you are not eligible for financial. Otherwise, complete the fafsa application.
