VA seems to have lost the claim file regarding a DIC claim I filed due to my husbands death. Do I have any recourse? It's been 14 months and no resolution. Help!

I did contact the VA..that's how I found out they can't find the file. I emailed them after numerous calls to them to check the status and always being told "sorry, it hasn't been reviewed yet"..."we don't know when it will be"...

I would contact such as the Disabled American Veteran main office in your state, usually located at the main VA office. You want to talk to a NSO (National Service Officer). Any local chapter of the DAV, VFW or such can tell you who to see or call.

If you contact your Congressional representative they usually have a person who assists on Veterans issues.

Do it ASAP, please. The DAV is there for widows!

Can you contact the VA office or go online to VA issues for researching this issue?
