In the Name Of Allah, Most Compassionate Ever Merciful

I quote from Bible

"But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Paraclete shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you." John 16:7

Muhammad" meaning "the one who praises" or "the praised one" is almost the translation of the Greek word Periclytos!!!.

In the Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, and 16:7. The word 'Comforter' is used in the English translation for the Greek word Paracletos which means advocate or a kind friend rather than a comforter.

Paracletos is the warped reading for Periclytos. Jesus (pbuh) actually prophesised Ahmed by name. Even the
Greek word Paraclete refers to the Prophet (pbuh) who is a mercy for all creatures.

Now the question is EVEN AFTER READING THIS WILL YOU DENY THE TRUTH!!!

The Greek word for paraklete is:
para-alongside
kaleto-to call

literally the one who is called alongside. Jesus referred to this one as the comforter, helper, etc...but is also known as the agios pneuma (spirit of the holy one/ holy spirit).

Look at Matthew 28; Acts 1-3 for more info. In Acts 8 "The spirit" moved Philip.
Throughout the Bible, we see the spirit sealing, helping, and indwelling followers of Jesus (pbuh). We see that the spirit convicts the world of sin. We see the spirit testifying that Paul & followers of Jesus are beleivers (Paul met Jesus & talked about him rising from the dead...and that he did in fact die).
1 Cor. 15 is a good passage that will help you gain understanding into the life of the Christian.

Peace.

Good question!
Now, lets look at the passage;
John "16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you."
that's from the KJV. The word 'comforter' in the greek lexington is:
paravklhtoß par-ak'-lay-tos Noun Masculine
Definition
summoned, called to one's side, esp. called to one's aid
one who pleads another's cause before a judge, a pleader, counsel for defense, legal assistant, an advocate
one who pleads another's cause with one, an intercessor
of Christ in his exaltation at God's right hand, pleading with God the Father for the pardon of our sins
in the widest sense, a helper, succourer, aider, assistant
of the Holy Spirit destined to take the place of Christ with the apostles (after his ascension to the Father), to lead them to a deeper knowledge of the gospel truth, and give them divine strength needed to enable them to undergo trials and persecutions on behalf of the divine kingdom

It is a counselor not one who praises. This is from the greek text.
Now, if by following your reasoning is it also Muhammad that is meant by 1 john 2: "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous"
The word Advocate is the same greek word. Does Muhammad take away our sins?
NO.
Your reasoning is just plain wrong.
But again, good question.

You are right that the Greek word "Paraclete" means comforter. You are also correct that Muhammad means comforter. But that is were the similarites end. After Jesus promises the Comforter (John 14:17)would come, he identifies who it is in the very next verse. The Spirit of Truth. "The world cannont accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him".
He further identifies him 8 verses later, "the Holy Spirit"... will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you"

Muhammad live 600 years after this promise. There is a 600 year problem. But one may say that the early Christians preverted Jesus true teachings. Some of them tried, early Judizers, Gnostics tried to introduce things that were foreign to what Christ revealed to his disciples.

The very fact that there were opposing groups to the true church reinforces the truthfullness of the Apostles teaching. They were the ones who were commissioned by Christ to take the simple Gospel into the world calling on all men to repent (Matt 28, Mark 16). They were the ones who suffered persecution, and died a martyr's death because of their belief of Jesus resurrection. A martyr's death for refusing to deny Christ. They never tried to kill anyone, no matter how much abuse people laid on their God.

The early church has it's foundation upon those Apostles. They were the ones who sacrificed all for their master. They were the ones who introduced Creator God to the Gentiles. For what? A lie? Was Jesus crucified and was raised from the dead? The earliest Christian believed so. Upon the tesimony of the his closest disciples, they preached Christ crucified and his resurrection.

They claimed to be eyewitness of his resurrection. Their message was taken to all the World. A non-violent message that won over millions of Gentiles. The church in Rome was large enough, and well known enough that even Nero blamed the Christians for setting fire to their beloved city. But when the Gnostics came to Rome just a little over 60 years later, the church resisted their teachings because of the foundation laid by Peter and Paul in the city itself. The disciples writings were being copied and cherished by the church as a source that was promised by Jesus that he would not leave them as orphans, but he would give them the comforter, who guide them to all truth.

Over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament found it's fullfillment in Jesus, including the type of death he would die. An atoning death, who takes away the sins of the world. But it was also prophicied that he would be raised from the dead.

The very first message that his disciples preached was that Jesus, who worked wonders and miracles among them, was killed, upon God's foreknowledge. But he did not abandon him in the grave, but raised him. Peter quoted several prophecies concerning not only his death, but also his resurrection. God left no stone unturned by annoucing his intentions several hundred years before the fact. Peter states that it was fulfilled.
The result, 3000 men accepted the message that day.

With over 300 prophecies relating to their Messiah, it's not suprising that the earliest Christian writings mentions them over and over.

But why did his earliest disciples die a martyr's death, if it was all based on a lie. All the Apostles, except John, died Martyr's deaths. If they knew that the resurrection was a lie, then why would they give up, not only all their worldly possessions, but also their lives preaching that he was raised from the dead.

It is to easy to say that the early Christian writing were changed. On the contrary their is plenty of evidence that just the opposite occured.

One only has to consider all the evidence.

The Gospel according to Islam, New York Vantage press 1979
Then said the priest: How shall the messiah be called? "Jesus answered: " the name of the messiah is admirable. Muhammad is his blessed name.
The gospel of Barnabas, chapter 97, 14Th century A.D.
If Muhammad really was for told in the Gospel there would be no need for Muslims to rewrite the Gospel with Muhammad now for told in it. These false Gospel are contributing proof that is the claim of the quran is false.

the Prophet did not come to the disciples of Jesus as Jesus said he would in John 16:7 . The Prophet came some hundred or so years after the disciples died. So how can you say that the Prophet is the Paraclete?

John 16:17 is not referring to Muhamman but the Holy Spirit, as is John 14:16, 15:26 and 16:7

Peace be upon you

The comforter is the Holy Spirit. All Christians who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior are indwelled with the Holy Spirit which is God. Mohamed has nothing to do with it. He was just a man. If you go to his burial place and open it you will be able to see him bones. If you go to Jesus' burial place and open it you will not find his bones because he rose from the dead.

You are entitled to your erroneous beliefs. The term is Holy Spirit, or Comforter. mohamed is never been a comforter. Sorry. I'll tell you what. I won't cut off your head to convert you, if you don't cut off mine. Then we will both wait until Jesus' return (I KNOW that is in the Qu'ran) and see who is right. Merry Christmas.
