I'm looking for personal recommendations on Irish setter breeders. The breeder I used previously was Kenmore. But I can't seem to find anything about them online, so maybe they aren't around anymore.

Yes, I know I can get a list of breeders from AKC. The link is broken for the Irish setter breeder directory. But even so, the names mean nothing to me without personal recommendations.

Please don't bother lecturing me about what Irish setters are like and what I need to do to be a responsible owner for one. I know already; I've had them before.

Check out the Breeders Directory of the Irish Setter Club of America

While it's not a GUARANTEE of a good breeder, at least these people have signed a code of ethics and taken the trouble to join the national club.

If there's a regional Irish Setter club in your area, check with them too.

Consider adopting one from an Irish setter rescue rather than one from a breeder:

I got both my Golden's from a golden rescue and they are great dogs.

If the above links don't cover your state try putting irish setter rescue [State name] in a search engine.
