In the Name Of Allah, Most Compasionate Ever Merciful

Why do U Christians believe in the concept of Holy Spirit with Divine nature when Bible says

"But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Paraclete shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you." John 16:7

This verse clearly tells us that the coming of the Paraclete was subject to the departure of Jesus. Whereas, the "Holy Spirit" was already present. It was in existence since the day of the Creation and was hovering upon the surface of the earth (Genesis 1:2). It was also present with the prophets of the Old Testament. The "Holy Spirit" happened to be present at River Jordan when Jesus Christ was being Baptised by John the Baptist, in the early part of his ministry. So, how could Jesus say; "but if I go, I will send Holy Spirit"?

John 16:7
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

The holy spirit was present in heaven and with Jesus. Up to that point, the holy spirit of course existed, but only occasionally empowered people to do God's work. example Moses and the prophets. There is a difference between the holy spirit being WITH you and him being IN you.......

Jesus was promising that the holy spirit would be sent to fill and empower each man's spirit on an individual basis.... so that the power of God would be manifest in each ones' lives. This occured on the day of Pentecost, 50 days later, when the holy spirit descended in tongues of fire over each disciple's head and they began speaking in other tongues. After this occured, the disciples were able to spread the gospel without fear, heal the sick , give prophesies, and perform miracles. The evidence of the presence of the holy spirit IN someone is in miraculous displays of God's power.

No one had really experienced the Holy Spirit until Pentecost. Christians believe in the Trinity, saying that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all the same being. So, naturally, if Jesus was on Earth, the Holy Spirit would be with him. So, since he had to leave us, he gave us the Comfetor, or the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us. I hope that answers your question!

You've asked an intelligent, thoughtful question. I hope i can answer appropriately.
Yes, it is true that the Holy Spirit was at work prior to Jesus' ministry and departure. King David alluded to the Spirit in his psalms and the Prophets had to have His presence as you say in order to instruct the people.
What Jesus was referring to was the fact that He had to complete His work on the cross and through the resurrection and ascension to provide those who accept Jesus as their savior to be empowered to live better lives.
The ancient Hebrews had no power to live by God's standards. That was the main reason for all those sacrifices of animals, whence we get the term 'scapegoat'.
The Bible says that, "without faith it is impossible to please God." And, "Salvation is by faith and not from works and that faith itself is a gift."
Yes the 'Trinity' is a difficult concept, but again some things you just take on faith.

This is correct. The Lord God is ONE. He cannot take two different forms in the same spacetime without confusing the heck out of His People. Look at it this way: The City Clerk of some small town also doubles as the sheriff and the judge. You get caught speeding. You are taken by the Sheriff to the Judge. The sheriff has to walk out the door, put on the robes of office, and re-enter as the judge. Once he's done, he takes off the robes and the uniform, and returns in civvies to collect the fee. One man. Three jobs. It's the same with God. One God. Three functions.

Hope that helps.

well the Holy Spirit was already in existence from the beginning, but He was not on this earth so wen Jesus went He sent the Holy Spirit to this Earth to dwell with us!

And the Holy Spirit came only that once to Anoint Jesus and to be with Jesus only not with the rest of the World cuz we weren't yet saved cuz he had not died and resurrected.

Paraclete means comforter or intersessor and generally understood to by synonymous with the Holy Spirit. Your argument is specious at best.

simple answer my good man. you are correct the holy spirit always was and always will be. in the old testament we needed to come clean and make sacrifices to God in order to converse with him. when Jesus died he became the ultimate sacrifice for all which then opened the door for the holy spirit to dwell inside each and everyone who accepted him. The holy spirit is everywhere but its until u accept God as ur personal Lord and Savior that he makes himself real to you and comes and lives inside you. from there we are able to be convicted be the spirit and thats what keeps us on track with God.
