Originally, CFCs were the dominant propellant in the 1960s and 1970s. However, in 1977 the EPA banned their use.

Axe uses a mixture of propane, isobutane, and butane as propellants (these are also found in a cigarette lighter!). All are relatively safe, though highly combustible.

AXE is made and sold in the USA, right? Aren't chlorofluorocarbons banned as propellants here? Hasn't that been in place for a while?

I'd worry more about your personal environmental out gassing, lol. Use the deodorant.

Good luck!

CFC's were banned, so I wouldn't worry about them being harmfull to the enviornment, just harmful to your personal safety. (All those women tackling you and stuff)
