I want to cut out a 3 minute segment from a 30 min video, is there any way to do this and how?

I should've asked which program I should use to do this. I know I can't do it in WMP.

Not with Media Player (it is only a player), but if you have XP then you can do it with Movie Maker - included with XP.
Start > Accessories > Movie maker
Import the clip into the program
Drag it to the timeline at the bottom of the screen
Use the Clip tool to cut the section you want
Save it as a movie and you are done...

a number of your video fabric is copyrighted. YouTube gained't help you upload any video containing copyrighted fabric. Persnickety website that YouTube is. different web pages like stay Leak have fewer regulations even as it is composed of copyrights (yet, i have not uploaded there for awhile, so issues ought to have replaced)

no not on WMP. you need a programmme like sonic, showbiz, maybe windows movie maker?
