you should go outside with your dog to the loo and give it lots of praise and treats when it goes.

Will he follow you if you go outside?

I have four dogs that were exactly the same.. long story but am still housetraining a couple of them, so they would opt to "go" indoors at night rather than brave the rain. I've found crate training at night to be a God send because they are desperate by the morning and will run outside regardless of the weather.

I've found the best way to be hovering around outside with them (in All weathers) and giving a treat immediately after the deed is done. My puppy learned this very quickly and can now "go weewees" on command.. She still refuses to go outside in the wind and rain unless I am by her side or she is really desperate, but there is definate progress.

Perhaps bribes are the way to go..

Hi
You should definitely not force him/her or tell them off as I had the exact same problem and my dog started to not go at all even after 12 hours! Because I had made going horrible for her by getting the hump when she would not go. I did not mean too I just wanted her to go for her own good but she does not understand that. Now she goes fine but it took hard work because the damage was done. Try taking food or his/her fav toy and make going in the rain the best thing ever, and don't forget loads of praise if they do go.

Well this happened to us when our little staffy decided it was nicer to do a poo in the bathroom when the weather was bad. I think he had seen us go in there to use the loo and thought what a good idea. He thinks he is a human in doggy fur.
Rather than tell him off for this, we have started really praising him every time he does a wee or poo in the garden, and giving him a treat when he comes back in, whether he has been or not. Seems to be working at the mo! He comes back in and looks straight at your hand for the treat!
Best of luck

Sorry but you have to be dominant of the dog and make him go out. Once outside just close the door on him. He cannot fail to go to the loo for a whole day, it will ruin his waterworks. I am not a heartless sod but a great animal lover who realises that sometimes as with children you have to be seen to be cruel to be kind. Good luck.

It particularly relies upon on if the dogs has been experienced as much as conserving it for an prolonged time. for example - i could on no account enable a dogs "carry his bladder" for 8 or 9 hours, if he became continually used to going each and every 4 hours or so. to realize this would harm the dogs's bladder or reason him undue discomfort. Why? by using fact the dogs isn't used to conserving it for that long of a term. yet, if the dogs became experienced to hold it that long - by making use of working it relatively is way as much as eight hours - Week a million - enable her carry it for 5 hours. Week 2 - enable her carry it for 6 hours. Week 3 - enable her carry it for 7 hours Week 4 - enable her carry it for 8 hours - style of a training time table to get the dogs's techniques and bladder used to conserving it for that long a term. of direction you need to use a shortend version of what I wrote above. Say some days at each and each point. So think of of your self - what in case you have been used to going each and every 2 hours each and all of the time - and rapidly you have been instructed you need to no longer choose for 8 hours. would not you be very uncomfortable? would not your bladder harm? would not your techniques harm from questioning approximately going? As for my dogs, a male Jack Russell Terrier - in simple terms approximately 12 years previous - he's a house dogs - he is going out in the morning around 6 am, yet sometimes no longer till 8 am. Then he is going out at lunch, At dinner and at bedtime. sometimes whilst i circulate out for the day, he will carry it for 8 hours. that's what he does at night. yet he's conscious of whilst i circulate out, he won't drink water. he will in simple terms drink it whilst i'm abode, or once I come abode. Now in the adventure that your dogs is used to going each and every time she desires to going - whilst she's in her kennel outdoors - then bringing her right into a diverse atmosphere would make her in a position to hold it longer. you in simple terms must wait and notice. Now have you ever considered diapers - if she does have an twist of destiny? we used those on my older dogs for the duration of his final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days by using fact he became so incontinent. besides - good luck - i'm specific you will do locate. I hate it more than him but what is the only other option...it does'nt bear thinking about. Once i put him out for a while & low behold it started to bucket down suddenly he went berserk,i forgot he was out there it was only this terrible sound that alerted me to it.

If it bothers you a lot then i suppose you could put him outside for a while so he could do his business. But you shouldn't be worrying because if he doesn't want to go out he doesn't want to go out
