why is an application opening in wordpad when it should open in adobe?

how do we make it open in adobe instead of word pad.

If you are using Windows XP, try right clicking the file and select Properties. There is a line that says Open With. Click the Change button, and select the correct program.

If you want a more permanent solution, go to My Computer, select Tools, then select Folder Options. Click the File Types tab, select the extension of the file from the extension column and click the Change button. This time when you select the correct program, make sure you select the check box next to "Always use the selected program...".
