i've just come back from there, went to Hurghada and yes you do need one, its just a form you fill in and pay in the airport, i think it was £10 GBP per person, they only accept STERLING. Ignore people when they say about terrorists, i had a fab time and the people were very freindly indeed. My only advise would be to tip people in the hotel, we did on arrival only about £2 and we got a fab room. The waiters will do whatever they can for you if you tip them once, they only earn about £20 per month and they work their socks off for you. enjoy it

Egypt works the same way as Turkey - you roll up at the airport on arrival, fork over £10 or £15 in cash and get the visa stamp in your passport. So yes, you do need a visa, but you don't make a special application for it - just make sure you have the necessary money when you go through immigration control.

If you intend taking a scuba diving holiday in Sharm or any of the other resorts you will need a visa, this will cost you £15, no other visa is leagally required if you`re a UK citizen.
BUT !, the hassles some of the so called customs officials can give you at the airport wanting you to buy a visa, just `aint worth the bother, it`s easier and quicker to get one in the UK, this way you avoid the queues in the airport.
Have a nice holiday, it`s a good place.

Depends on which passport you hold. British passport holders require a visa for Egypt but they can be bought on arrival for about £15 per person. If however you are staying in Sharm El Sheikh and are not going to do any visits to somewhere like Luxor then you dont need a visa.
I know its confusing but if you think you might do a trip then get a visa.

I don't think you do but check with the embassy. The embassy contact details can be found on the Foerign Office website http://www.fco.gov.uk/ (under About the FCO/Directory/Foereign Embassies in the UK).
