I am a born and raised Christian, married to a Jew for 9 years. He bought me a Star of David pendant many years ago. I used to wear a CTR ring (being raised LDS) but have not worn it for a LONG time--I am non-practising (don't worry, my faith in God and Jesus Christ have not deminished. Is it wrong for me to wear the Star of David not being Jewish? It was a gift and I treasure it, but don't know what to do.

My vote, wear it and enjoy it. It is a gift, be thankful to the one who gave it to you.

I can't determine if your husband is Jewish by what you've written. There is a movement in Evangelical and Pentecostal churches to realize that the Jews are God's chosen people and that Christians go one step further and accept Christ as their Savior.

The Old Testament of the Bible, which is largely Jewish history, actually tells in several books of a Savior being born into the world.
I personally think it would be incorrect to wear it ; there are necklaces that are Judeo-Christian, that have a Star of David with a Cross in the middle. I used to have one of those and wore it.

I would try to locate this necklace if you wanted to wear a Star of David. I've seen it in Christian Book Stores, mostly. But I wouldn't wear the one you have.

Of course, that is a very personal decision and one that only you can make.

As a Christian, I would say no. The only difference between the two faiths is that as a Christian, we believe that Jesus was The Son of God and The Messiah...Jews are still waiting for their Messiah. We have the same Old Testament and worship the same God...we might call Him by a different name, but in the Bible, God has a lot of names and comes in various forms. We sometimes forget that our foundation as a religion is in the Jewish faith. Jesus was a practicing Jew. He went to the temple, not the local Baptist or Methodist or Catholic Church.

Why do you ask does it bother you that your not Jewish and not deserving of the pendent hanging from you neck, but on the other hand why would you not wear the crucifix amongst Jews to show your faith, do both the Christians and the Jews a favor and wear a diamond, that way you will not be embarrass or feel guilt. I guess what I'm trying to tell you is if you are not a shame of wearing it then wear it, and if anyone tell you something, simply tell them the truth
It was a gift and I treasure it & my husband loves for me to wear it.

I don't see anything wrong with wearing it. It is a beautiful gift from your husband and if you like it I would wear it. Judaism is a beautiful religion and God knows what your beliefs are in your heart. The Start of David doesn't stand for anything bad so I would go for it! This way if people ask you questions you can educate them on Christianity and Judaism.

for human beings that are Christians donning a megastar of David, there's no longer something incorrect donning it..... you at the instant are not disrespecting anybody, as long as you do it with a suitable coronary heart and you adore the Jewish people who're God's chosen human beings...... The Messiah (Jesus )(Yeshua) became a Jew is a Jew.... our saviour is A Jew who did no longer come to abolish the regulation yet to fulfill it, for the desire that those that placed their have confidence in the begotten son of God born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14) from the line of king David, could acquire salvation... As a Gentile believing in Messiah you're grafted into the kinfolk of God... something those that have not have been on condition that revelation have a no longer ordinary time information and could no longer understand except the daddy famous the son and the son famous the daddy..yet God has a plan for his human beings Israel.... so do no longer enable anybody discourage you or make you sense undesirable for donning it....

Our Christian faith IS rooted in Judaism, Jesus being from the line of David, however, our faith is based on the cross. I would encourage you to practice your faith. I don't think it's wrong to wear the gift from your husband, as long as you practice your Christian faith. You might want to talk to a pastor if you really want to make sure.

God bless.

Nothing wrong with a Christian wearing jewelry, even the star of David. But what is wrong is you said you were born and raised Christian, then said LDS. Mormon, LDS and RLDS are all pseudo-Christian. That means they are made to "look like" Christians, but they are really not. You need to be worried about that, not the star of David.

Nothing wrong with it at all, after all Jesus was a Jew and it serves a a recognition of the source of your beliefs...but, as with all symbols of Judaism, you should be aware of where you are and who's around you.

For example, I wear a yarmulke (skullcap) all the time. However, in certain places, I'll put on a baseball cap just so that I don't draw attention to myself.

When I was a kid in the 8th grade we had a substitute teacher who was the Baptist preacher's wife. She was wearing Star of David earings. She claimed she did not know that they were a Jewish symbol.
