I think it's ridiculous that it's considered rude. Just because some people call it shouting, it's really not. Those people shouldn't be so fragile to let capital letters upset them!

According to internet Etiquette all caps is SHOUTING. Unless you have a reason listed to type in caps it is seen as you are yelling. See in Internet Speak we have no way to define when we are yelling, other then maybe typing yelling this. So it was decided and by most understood that writing in caps is considered yelling. Although it is still better then people who type LiKe THis ThroUgh OuT a SenTENce.

it is becaus ewhen you type in all caps it is giving the impression that you are yelling or being every forceful to the person who you are asking the question. If i asked you somehting like: WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? you'd think that i was mad when if i asked: what's wrong with you? you would assume that i was asking how you feel. This is why it is rude

It's just annoying, because in the internet world all caps signifies "yelling". Just like in real life, for example you wouldn't walk up to a help desk and yell, "WHERE IS YOUR SHOE DEPARTMENT?" (unless of course you're in a bad mood, but I hope you catch my drift) It's just basic internet etiquette. Hope this helps. :-)

I don't know either! I always wondered. I'm on my computer at work and I have to type in all caps, so my caps lock is always on. Sometimes I forget to turn it off and I've been told it is rude. Is it like yelling? Haha people need to chill out.

In computerland all caps denotes YELLING and not emphasis.

because it's as if you're being too advance or a bit bossy..all caps is associated with yelling.i ask you,how do you write what you wanted to tell somebody when you're mad at them?

Because when you type all in capital letters, it is considered as yelling. And yelling is rude.
