ALL foods except meat. But not all carbohydrates are created equal. You need to see which ones raise the blood sugar and have the highest carbs.

The easiest rule of thumb is to say to yourself. Is this food naturally white? White flour, white potatoes, sugar, rice etc. These are very high and actually do no more healthwise than to give you a fat stomach. There is very little nutrition that you cannot live without in these foods.

Also fruits are not created equal. The sugar content is no different than the sugar in table sugar. Berries are best for lowest carbs. Avoid all juices because all good things are gone from the fruits and all that is left is sugar. Did you know that one glass is about the same sugar content as a candy bar, except tomato juice which has lycopene.

Any breads, dairies or vegetables, plus any thing with sugars.
Meat usually contains no carbs.
The best way to know how many carbs is to look at the information table on the outside of the package, but be sure to check the serving size as well. Just because a 20 oz soda says it only has 30 carbs doesn't mean that is all that's in that bottle. Usually, the bottle has 2.5 servings, so you actually get 75 carbs out of one bottle. 75 carbs is usually the amount a diabetic is supposed to have at one meal.

breads, pasta, potato products, anything with sugar or corn starch, beer and spirits. Even healthy foods such as lettuce and tomatos have carbs - but they are healthy.
