It isn't that unhealthy for your hair per se....just that it could cause buildup and flakes and not look so great. If you use a lot close to your scalp, you could have problems with your skin though.

For those slamming him for not washing his hair for 3 days, just stop it. Anyone involved in hair care knows that washing your hair too often will strip it of oils and make it dry. It could also do the same to your scalp, which is the worst. I have healthy hair, but I keep it that way by only washing it with shampoo every third day...the rest of time I rinse thoroughly in lukewarm water.

Not really. Your hair is actually dead so leaving a product in your hair for ages isn't going to damage it too much. Long as you wash it every now and again to do the rest of us a favour.

It is unhealthy because it leaves grease and oil which can cause dandraff and other things. You should wash it off immediately. Why would you leave gel on you hair for 3 days?? Don't you wash your hair??

wont hurt. will cause build up tho. if u want to get the buildup out of ur hair (w/o having to wash it numerous times) lather some baking soda in with ur shampoo (like a spoon full) and it will strip buildup gunk off ur hair.

yes probably but its not really going to do anything to your hair unless you do this all the time. just wash it out and try not to leave it in that long. but im sure your fine now though

If that's what the guy at the salon said then it should be fine. I always trust the guy at the salon.

Naaah. It's important to leave active chemicals in your hair as much as possible. Why not go for a year?

what kind of straightening? rebond/japanese straightening or just the plain straight iron straightening? cause if its just the straight iron then YEAH you can wash it. if its the rebond/japanese straightening then why did HE/SHE put GEL? cause nothings suppose to be put in it for a couple of days.
