Im sure all of these recipes are probably fine but I have one comment. I made a really good one last Christmas but the breadcrumbs were kind of dry. So I suggest you melt the butter and mix with the breadcrumbs, then sprinkle them on top rather than dotting with butter after sprinkling them on top. It's so much better.

You can put breadcrumbs on any 'baked macaroni and cheese' recipe before it goes in the oven. I think we use a can of Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. I think you just sprinkle enough so you don't see much of the mac and cheese.
There's different variations of baked macaroni and cheese. They all taste pretty good. I haven't used this one yet, but I'd like to. It's Paula Deen's "Lady's Mac & Cheese".

Where it says you can add cheese on top if you like, I would put breadcrumbs instead.

YES! 3/4 package of elbow macaroni noodles 1 can of tomato soup 1 1/2 cups of milk 3/4 cups EACH Cheddar Cheese and Mozzarella Cheese 1 cup of bread crumbs Garlic, pepper, and salt to taste (These measurements are just guesses, I almost never measure anything anymore, I know that the can of tomato soup is right and the milk but the cheese and bread crumbs are guesses, I just put in however much cheese looks right.) Boil macaroni noodles just short of being done. You still want them kind of firm. Overcooking them by boiling them, then baking them is what makes it gloopy! Drain them. Mix in the cheese, milk, tomato soup and the spices. Pour into a 13x9 casserole dish and pour bread crumbs over to cover. Bake 35 minutes in a 375 degree oven! After taking out of the pan, let sit for about 10 minutes to give it a little time to set! Enjoy!

Mom’s Macaroni and Cheese
This is has long been one of my daughter’s favorites. I started using Italian breadcrumbs for the extra punch.
1 ½ cups elbow macaroni
3 tbsp butter or margarine
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
½ tsp garlic salt
½ tsp dried mustard
2 ½ cups shredded or cubed Muenster cheese
Italian-style bread crumbs
Cook macaroni in boiling water till tender. Drain.
Melt butter in sauce pan and blend in flour. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly till there are no lumps and sauce has thickened.
Mix macaroni with cheese sauce and turn into a casserole pan. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes or till bubbly and brown.

what you do is cook the mac and cheese as you would normally and then place it into a cassorole dish, and right before you stick it in the oven, crumble bread crumbs on it. then bake it for about 5 minutes at about 325... or depending on yout oven
