Go to a tax accountant. We do that because there's no way we can figure out what's 'best' in the tax code. Our accountant will figure out the taxes different ways and then submit the cheapest. It's the BEST way to spend my money.

A REAL tax accountant, not H&R block or those other guys. It might cost you $200, but you know you will be getting the BEST deal on the taxes.

good luck

You must file married filing jointly or married filing seperate (a disaster)
The joint return will produce the best outcome- You can no longer file head of household (you are married-that's the bottom line) or single.
Your earned Income Credit will be lower- can't be helped- the law is very specific about this- Good luck.

A local CPA would be more helpful in dealing with the specifics of your situation. However, I will say that you can no longer file as head of household as you are married. You can file married filing seperately or jointly. Most of the time, filing jointly yields the best results, but your situation may vary and a local preparer will be more helpful to you.

You have to file jointly with your husband. You will get less money back with your refund than you have in the past, but in the long term married people do better financially.
