Eat less and exercise more. That's the only way that doesn't involve surgery.

Remember: Eating less means less calories, not necessarily less food. Look at food labels and divide the calories by the grams. The lower the number the fewer calories you'll take in if you eat until you feel full. You can also bulk up your favorite recipes, and make them tastier, by adding things such as peppers, celery, onions, etc.

Exercising more can simply mean adding more activity to your daily life: park a bit farther from the entrance to your workplace or stores, take the stairs when they're convenient, carry fewer bags at a time when you unload the car after a shopping trip.

To put it simply. Go here:
http://www.caloriecontrol.org/calcalcs.html

Enter your stats (sex, height, weight, & activity level) and get a calorie number. That number is to MAINTAIN your weight. Subtract no more than 500 calories from there (if you subtract more than 500, your body can go into starvation mode and store fat and use your muscles as a glycose resource). Anyway if you do that, from diet alone, you'd lose about a pound a week (depending on your metabolism).

Then get active. Try to workout for at least 15-30 mins a day, 3-5 days a week. Whatever you do must bring your heart rate UP and pumping. The heavier are and the intensity of the workout will decide how much weight you lose from exercise.

Go to your doctor and get a good checkup before you start. talk to him about how many calories you will need a day. then start a excerise program what ever you like to do. Drink at lest 8-10 (8 to 10) ounces of water a day. I hope you have good luck losing the weight, it is hard, but you can do this.

Try this: for one week watch your calorie intake and keep track, at the end of the week figure out how many calories you usually take in during one whole day; Then on the start of the second week reduce your daily calorie intake...for example I was eating around 3500 calories a day and went down to 2500 calories a day for 2 weeks then I went down to 1500 a day and I lost 65 pounds in about 2 1/2 to 3 months time good luck

Hi there!

The rule is very simple. Consume less calories than you burn. However, most people don't know how much they do on both ends. Thus, for you to get started I would just say keep your calories at 1500 per day and stay active. This should do the trick and get you started. Also, try to find someone knowledgeable to keep you accountable and motivated for your goal.

I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.

Good luck with your diet and fitness goals!
