We have a family Christmas party on the 23rd, and rent a hall because we have a big family about 150 people or more and everyone brings a dish to share, we eat dinner, and then Santa arrives for the kids and we open presents. It is so much fun and nice to see relatives we don't see that often. Then on the 24th we finish any shopping and wrapping presents, then get ready and go to Christmas Eve Service at church, and yes Jesus is the reason for the season. Happy Holidays.

^I don't get your point. They thought of Jesus, the son of God being born no December 25. This might, or might not be the date. This came first, and then St. Nicholas. So, it's Jesus first, and then CHRISTmas. Don't ever say CHRIST mas if you don't believe it than. It's not St. Nicholasism.

Also, remember that St. Nicholas stemmed completely and utterly from Jesus, who I believe is to be the savior of the world. He was a bishop who followed Chirstianity (duh), and he gave everything that he had to give to poor kids. He was wealthy, and offered all that he had. He loved the Lord, and he did as in the phrase "What would Jesus do." Jesus would obviously give everything he owned to people. Just like St. Nicholas did.

So, even if it was a St. Nicholas holiday first (which it wasn't), he still loved Jesus, and would have loved to have Jesus as the main thing. He was a freakin' bishop for goodness sakes. That's probably why they even moved his holiday to be near Jesus. So, even the old big guy has something to do with Jesus and his birth. Jesus was a baby (a child-shock), and look what St. Nicholas did (He gave to poor children.) Don't forget about the wisemen feeling of giving to the child Jesus. All Christ mas is revolves around Jesus. Even the tree resembles eternal life. With you-you might ask?

Candy Cane resembles Jesus in which the way up is a J, the way down is a shepard (Jesus was like a shepard.), the red symbolizes his blood, and the white his purity. The scent also resembles something about him. All CHRISTmas is JESUS.

Now, the thing that came from St. Nicholas who does symbolize something in Jesus name, but is more Americanized for retail is Santa Claus. So, even Santa Claus came from someone religious. It's like Snow White being at Walt Disney. They just copied the thing, and made it there own.

What I do is? I go to midnight mass, and the next day, we open the presents, and watch the CHRISTmas parade. That's about it. I do want sing happy birthday to Jesus this year.

My family and I will go to church on Christmas eve. On Christmas morning, we will get up early and open presents and have a big breakfast and enjoy spending time together. We have another celebration with my extended family hosted at our house, and another with his extended family at another location.

My family and I meet with about thirty friends and relatives to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have a big meal, including a birthday cake for Jesus that my wife makes!

This year, my grandmother passed away. Instead of the adults exchanging presents with each other, we are going to make a cash contribution in her remembrance to the hospice house she spent her last hours in.

Have a blessed Christmas!
