True Ice does begin to evaporate over tiime in a freezer. Most especially if the freezer is a self-defrosting model.

Ice will keep for a long time in a freezer however if it in near to strong flavour foods e.g peppers or onions it can have a bit of a tang and will spoil you drinks

i had this conversation last night. when water freezes it expands but once it is frozen and then left frozen for awhile it starts to evaporate. i don't know exactly how long it takes to do that.
i don't use a lot of ice but i know that i try to keep all the trays full just in case someone does want ice in their drink. i have pulled out a try before and the ice is either almost gone or the try is empty. weird isn't it?

It keeps forever as long as the freezer door stays closed and the power stays on.

A long time if sealed, like you would water, but ice trays will disappear to sublimation, and take on odors.

i don't know exactly how long it keeps but it will keep longer in a bag than out. if you have extra ice cubes, put them in a ziplock bag so you won't run out during the holidays.
