>> Who is sick and tired of this fight/debate?

Not me. I already know what the scientific community thinks of the "debate" - it was dead years ago. Personally, I couldn't give a hoot about what the public thinks - they clearly don't understand the topic. That isn't a testament to the validity of the theory, it's a testament to educational system in the U.S. I say "U.S." not to be anti-American, but it's the only first-world country that has this problem with the "debate". Canada certainly doesn't. The U.K. certainly doesn't. It's only the religious zealots that seem to be bothered by the thought of gradual growth from the bottom-up - they prefer the fantastical idea that we were all just placed here in a top-down model. The world must be a scary place when you think there are giants, and unicorns running around (yes, they're in the bible too!) and the god and the devil are forever locked in the heat of a cosmic battle for your soul. How do you get out of bed every day?

I say, if you don't believe it, stop using modern medicine. Things clearly don't evolve - why get a new flu shot every year? It'll be the same virus next year. Go ahead - wash everything in anti-bacterial products. Clearly bacteria will never develop an immunity to it - they're all the same as they were the day 'god' put them here! Then, when you get a superbug that's resitant to all anti-biotics, maybe you'll die off quicker so that the rest of us can actually work towards understanding our world better.

---

Please. Be alone in your ignorance - the rest of us are actually trying to expand our knowledge to better the human race.

I am so sick of this debate. But Wow dude. My opinion is even farther off the chart than yours but I really like your style. I say, WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? Watch 'An Inconvenient Truth' about Global Warming and see how we are poisoning our Earth and headed for an artificially induced Ice Age and we all will be struggling just to survive. Scientists' should be solving That problem instead of debating Evolution. Otherwise we won't have a Planet to Debate ON !!! And people who call themselves Christians should start acting like Christians or stop Calling themselves Christians. There are enough hypocrits in the world as it is! Am I right or wrong? Peace.

For me there is no debate. Evolution is a scientific based, evidence based theory. Creationism is a story book dream, a fairie tale. There is no basis for any kind of comparison. Evolution is obviously the right idea. Do we know everything about it yet? No. Will we ever know all the details about our evolutionary trail? Maybe not but even given that evolution is till the only rational, logical way.

First, Darwin never said we came from monkeys. That came from Creationists.

Next, evolution has been observed. Bacterium and viruses have resistance to medicine that have been useful just 50 years ago. Don't tell me that God did that or else I would have to hate Him more.

Now, creation may be good to explain where the origin of our species came from, but then, who created it? And where it that come from, that said creator?

Ahh, let us just say evolution will win one day. Creation is such a stupid idea anyway.

It doesn't sound like you are tired of this debate at all..... it sounds like you are sick of losing the argument.

There's no doubt that evolution would win by your logic, but even without your "proof by longevity" theory, there are countless other ways to prove that evolution is how we've come to exsist.

You need to open your mind a little and do a bit of reading before you will be able to see the turth. Until then, no one will be able to tell you anything.

What I am sick and tired of is people who don't understand how using the scientific method to understand the world around them works. There is no DEBATE between Creationism and Evolution. Creationism is simply the tale told by ancient people who were trying to answer the question of where did we come from. They had no scientific tools at their disposal, there were simply thinking and making things up. Its a story, nothing more. Evolution is the result of a painstaking, long term, data gathering, data comparing system of scientific discovery and there is no dispute as to its factualness. Period.

This is for those who think that religion is not compatible with the theory of evolution. I am not religious though.

creationist especially get ready to have a eureka moment!

Ask yourself this one question, "Did there ever exist a me that was a child?"

I am a man now, however I remember a child that used to call himself by my very name. Does that child still exist? Philosophically I guess I can say that part of that child still exist because at one moment in time, the man that is me today was that child that existed many years ago and the man that I am today still remembers many of the experiences and thoughts that that child had. I am however physically no longer that child.

How can it be that I am still me if I was all of those very different forms at those different points in time?

From infant, to child, adolescent, to adult, my thoughts change and I grew to understand my existence more and more.

If God could allow such dramatic transformations to occur within one individual life form, who is to say that God would not choose to allow dramatic transformations within an entire species of life forms.

Maybe we are meant to evolve into something that can eventually truly understand God.

There is something we study, observe, examine, and may be tested on in school! Evolution.

There is also our faith, what is in our heart, and what see as an answer. Creation.
Let both be taught. No one is required to believe evolution. Evolution is not a religion.
Another important reason in our family to teach our kids about the Christian view. Our kids understand the difference in what a public school can teach. Or a college. But they see it as a theory, a test to be taken, not a fight or debate. They know what they believe (creation) to be true.

EDIT..Father K. said it best...the Bible is NOT an archeology book!
