I wouldn't worry about it. If she feels good enough to play let her. Exercise helps us heal faster. If you really really want to make her sit still try going for a walk or drive.

As long as she is coughing, sneezing and wheezing at your house, it shouldnt matter. Thats great she feels good, the docs always think my kids arent sick cause they are usually in good spirits, even with high fevers. When they really are down and out they will sleep all day, your daughter will rest when she is tired enough, or you can drug her with some benadryl although it has been known to make some kids hyper.

That's typical. My daughter is 2 and she is the same way. If she is running around and playing, that is fine. It means she feels well enough to do so. Regardless of the sniffles and cough, she may feel fine. Just make sure you can try to get her to rest at least once during the day. If she still naps, that may be all the rest she needs. If not, try to sit with her and read her some books or watch a video together.

One of my twin sons is just like that!! This kid had an ear infection, 103 temp, a cold and eye infection....and i could not stop him! He was still his normal self running wild....i guess if they need the rest they will eventually plop...my other son on the other hand is a big baby and wants held and cuddled over the slightest sniffle. Good luck with the little one!! Mine is impossible to stop even sick! haha

I think she'll rest when she is ready. If she had a fever, her body would make her rest, but if it's just a cold, she could beebop until she drops =). Let her body dictate additional rest as needed. Just keep her on her daily schedule. You may find she takes a longer nap than usual.

What kind of medication is she taking? Does it have some sort of steriods in it that can make a toddler very hyperactive as she is. Or you can give her a warm bath in a warm bathroom with baby soothing bath. It could her breathing to inhale steam as well as relax her.

my daughter, when not sick, is non-stop movement. and when she's sick, she is the same exact way. i figure its easier to have the kid that stays happy and moving, than to have the little one that whines and wants to be pampered for 2 or 3 days. as long as you're giving your daughter the fluids and meds she needs, don't worry about her activity level, she'll wind down for a nap eventually.

It's a great sign that's she's got energy. Don't sweat it, but you can encourage some quieter activities like play-doh and coloring.

Other than to tie her down there is no solution. Just make sure she has plenty to drink

it is probably good that she wants to play but if you really want her to rest, it might help to give her some medicine that makes her sleepy like benadryl or another kind of antihistamine for children.
