Ginger is what you want to settle an upset stomach. Take it in the form of ginger ale (best) or candied ginger.

It depends on what is causing the stomach ache...Milk can coat the stomach walls, protecting it from some irritants. BUT some people are lactose intollerent which is aggrevated by milk. Peptic ulcers respond well to milk, but only at first. As the milk is broken down, it actually aggrevates peptic ulcers. If you have gallstones, milk will set off an attack because milk fat causes the release of bile from the liver, and greatly increases the risk of a gallstone breaking loose and plugging up a bile duct. Milk, and other dairy products can also irritate the small and large intestine. You had better find out what is causing the pain before you simply drink a glass of milk to treat it. Depending on your age and general health, your health care provider can best tell what tests you need to isolate the problem.

milk is somewhat hard to digest and I would not recommend it when you have a stomach ache. It has proteins which are not that easy to digest along with lactose, a sugar.
I would recommend soda crackers.. and some 7-up. The soda in the crackers will help neutralize the acids in your stomach and soothe it a little.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.

The 'old wives tale' is that milk is good for people with a stomach ulcer but I think that it's been proved incorrect. You're better of drinking something like ginger ale or club soda. You shouldn't have anything with acidity (like juices) and even plain water can be harsh.

I dont think milk would hurt you right now. All milk does is coat your stomach for a quick minute.Thats why they say its ok to take milk with some medications that call for food. You know the meds. that say must be taken with food? But other than that I dont think it would hurt to drink some. I dont think it will make you feel any better. But youi can try take care hon.

As long as you aren't lactose intolerant, it'll help by diluting the acidity in your stomach.
I even take it with pain pills, as the milk buffers the acidity of the aspirin as well.
Fruit juice can help too, but stay away from sodas.

Yes, I believe that milk does settle a stomach.
But don't take it if you are vomiting.
