I don't know for sure. But I have two solid grey cats too. I have looked on websites related to naturally occurring breeds and bred grey cats including Russian Blue, Chartreux, Korat and British Blues. The websites are very helpful- you might start by looking up the breeds with grey fur. From that, maybe you can see which breed your cat looks the most like. Maybe he has some fancy lineage that gives him that nice grey fur.

Pure any-color cats are rare. But we have grey and white cats here. The mother was a grey and white, and the father was a grey. Other kittens of the same line are pure grey.

Pure grey cats are usually called "blue" cats. You may find it has a lot of the british blue genes. My parents had two grey cats & basically that is what the vet told my mum.

The Russian Blue and the British Blue are famous for their gorgeous grey coats. Some persian breeds (the longhaired cats) are also grey. We had an all grey cat once, and she was very fluffy so had alot of persian in her but without the horrible squashed face look.

You are indeed lucky! I paid nearly six hundred pounds for two British Blue kittens four years ago from a breeder. They are really beautiful but not that rare. Good luck to you and your new cat, have many happy years together.

Grey cats could potentially be what's called a "feral" cat, this being caused by successive in-breeding. True fact.

Usually, that's too long for me. I consider it depends on the guy as well as his face though. Certain guys may pull off long hair and other people can't.

I have a kitten that's a Birman. The mother is grey and the father is a white birman.
