Contrary to what anyone thinks there is only one currency, which is the British pound sterling. Some English forget that Scotland is part of Britain

Scotland has their own money which is at a one to one ratio with the British pound, but looks different. You can use the British pound in Scotland but will probably receive Scottish money back. I was also told that it is difficult to use the Scottish money when going south to London and so on because of fake notes.

Pounds Sterling

Whereas you might find some banknotes issued by the Bank of England, you are more likely to see those issued by either the Clydesdale Bank, the Bank of Scotland or the Royal Bank of Scotland.

OnlyMe: That's funny. No English person ever forgets it. Scots express themselves so forcefully on the matter.
