i wouldnt really consider Ezra Brooks or Jim Beam mid-priced, not that theyre not good bourbons but i think they would be considered lower-end bourbons.(however Jim Beam Black is aged 8+ years and a good choice) For gift-giving, Makers Mark is a great mid-priced bourbon , both Decorative and Delicious. or spend a few more dollars and go for one of the small batch bourbons such as Knob Creek, Bookers, or Bakers(all outstanding bourbons)......they may be a little more pricey than what you were looking to spend, but will show class and will be sure to impress

There is a brand called Philips Union that just Started making Vanilla and Cherry flavored Bourbon. A bottle a Little bigger than a pint runs $8-9. If you know any one that likes to mix bourbon and coke both these are great for that stuff. plus it is a lot easier on you as a shooter or just to sip. People also mix the vanilla with pineapple juice. it is a different taste all together but is surprisingly good.

I once bought a bottle of Ezra Brooks in a New Hampshire state liquor store, it was 15 years old and like drinking liquid velvet. As I recall the price for this ambrosia was surprisingly reasonable.

Old Grand-Dad is always a good choice. Due to is recent prominence in Bad Santa, it has (for good or bad, depending on who you're giving the bottle to) certain "Alkie" connotations.
George Dickel is a good whiskey, too. Technically, it's a Tennesee Whiskey, and not a bourbon, but it's a good tasting whiskey nonetheless. And it is sold in a classy bottle, making it very appropriate for gift giving.

Blanton's is an excellent, small batch bourbon, for around $40 a bottle. I also agree with Woodford as a less expensive, yet still tasty choice.

Ezra Brooks.
Tastes like Jack Daniels used to taste.
Don't confuse this with Evan Williams the labels look alike but it is nasty.
If you get a cork instead of a cap you've got the right one.

I like Wild Turkey if the Old Grand Dad is cheaper, it is just as good.
Jim Beam is a real good drink, and cheap too boot and most people if you line it up with JD will like it more, it is smoother and cheaper

Woodford Reserve is a fairly inexpensive yet good (mid-to top shelf) bourbon. Tastes like Jack Daniels. (Delta serves it on their planes)
