The best treatment for most sunburns is time -- given a few weeks, they will heal.[6] Immediate, temporary relief can be obtained by putting a cool, wet towel over the affected area, or taking a cold bath or shower.[6] More severe burns may be treated with burn ointments.[6]
There are numerous topical skin products that are sold over-the-counter to relieve the pain of a sunburn. Many popular products contain aloe, aloe with Lidocane, or vitamin E. In many cases, the application of cold water or ice gives immediate but temporary relief from pain.
Some common household or folk remedies include application of white vinegar and apple cider vinegar, mustard, lavender oil, cold tea, yogurt, St. John's wort, tomatoes, almond milk, avocado, or cucumbers to the affected area or areas. These folk remedies are largely untested, and may do more harm than good. St John's wort, for example, is known to cause photosensitivity leading to increased susceptibility to sunburns in situations that would not normally cause them .[citation needed] Such topical treatments aside, the pain from a sunburn can be treated with an analgesic such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.[6]
Peeling sunburns are usually accompanied by itching. Allergy medications such as Benadryl are effective at stopping the itch

If you do happen to get sunburned, there are various remedies you can use to soothe the pain and help heal your skin. Aloe Vera comes highly recommended, but be sure you purchase a product that lists aloe as one of the top ingredients. Always check the expiration date, since aloe is susceptible to losing its curative properties after time. In fact, the very best use of aloe is taking it straight from the Aloe Vera plant. Break open a leaf and remove the gel contained inside. Apply it to the sunburn to help soothe the burn, and to moisturize and protect the skin.
Also, be sure to drink plenty of water, as the dangers of dehydration multiply with sunburn. It is not wise to drink alcoholic beverages, because they may increase the risk of becoming dehydrated. You may not feel like eating, but you should try to eat a little something to keep up your strength. Sunburn can be like any illness or injury depending on its severity, and your body needs nourishment to heal itself.
Taking a cool bath will also help make you more comfortable. The cool water will help lower your body temperature and reduce the heat of the skin. Soak in the water and rinse gently but do not use soap on burned areas. Soaps can remove naturally occurring oils that your body needs to heal. After bathing, dress in loose comfortable clothing and stay in out of the sun until your sunburn begins to heal. Be sure to get plenty of rest.

Put aloe on it immediately or if you have a high pain resistance you can use Solarcaine, but its very painful when you put that on, however, after about a 1/2 hour the pain and the sting of the sunburn is completely gone.
Also, be sure to use moisturizer on your burn to help prevent peeling.

Find a lotion with tea tree oil in it or use something with aloe vera in it. If you have blistering go see the doc as this may be serious. You need to be more careful as sun damage is permanent and skin cancer if malignant can easily kill you. Is your life worth risking for a tan?

Apply aloe vera gel or perhaps vinegar, and avoid further exposure to the sun.

Vinegar mixed with tepid water paks - hand towels work best, this was my towns local pharmacists suggestion, worked like a dream too. re-dip them in the vinegar solution about every 20 minutes or so, and re-apply.
