That's really funny! I don't know why, but I wouldn't worry about it. Anyway, about him being scared, think of it - he's how big compared to you! Try to just sit by him and be very non-threatening. The trick is to scratch him just right so he purrs... then they get really snuggly! Also, if he's playful playing with him helps. Just spend lots of time together.

Try using a box about the same size as the litter box & put some blankets or shredded newspaper in it. Cas like to sleep in small places. When I worked in the animal hospital we would give the cats give two litter boxes 1 full & 1 empty. 1 to use & 1 to sleep in. For some reason some cats still decided to sleep in the litter box.

Kittens who are at this age love to sleep in their litter trays. It's just a phase, my kittens grew out of it. If he doesn't, try making a specific spot for him to sleep. As for when you try to pick him up.... Your kitten is or was not socilized properly, try exposing him to a lot of people and some loud noises. If you wad up a tin foil ball and roll it to him this could help. Your making progress if the kitten doesn't run away from the tin foil.

That's not good! The last time I had a cat lay down in the litter box, he was very ill.

Take the little tyke to the vet and mention the behaviors to him.

Good luck!
