My daughter and her fiance are planning a June wedding in a vineyard in the Charlottsville,VA. area. This is a contemporary yet traditional wedding. Her style is elegant and refined but she states that she does not want a truly formal.

Depends on the vineyard, what you have for dinner, remember, chicken is cheapest! I just got married in California and researched the vineyards there. I found that they were in line price wise with other places but they have alot of rules, and are limited as to what they can provide. For example most vineyards will only serve their product - meaning wine only. Most also seemed to have a specific end time, like "all guests must be off premises by 10:30PM, and we allow 1 hour for clean up" The other thing - you will need to most likely rent tables, chars linens, a wait and bar staff, and have the event catered. For 150 I say you are looking at a minnimum of $15-$20,000.

It's going to completely depend on what the vineyard is charging her for use of their facilities plus whatever else they are providing. However, if there is a meal included, you could be looking at upwards of $15000.

The bottom line is it depends on what she chooses to include in her "contemporary yet traditional wedding". The clothes she wears plus the bridal party, the reception and any fees included there. Presumably there will be wine charges which may or may not be there if you went elsewhere - depending on what the vineyard charges for their wine. Then there's also transportation, DJ/band, photography & videography, invitations, etc.

Why not find some vineyards in the area she likes and ask them for quotes, that seems a more sensible approach to it as weddings can vary from being very low budget to big budget blow outs. Or, set your budget first and then tell them to go off and see what they can find within that budget.

You need to research this with the vineyard, not people all around the world who don't know anything about vineyards in or around Charlottsville, Virginia!

I would say in the ballpark of $10,000-$15,000. This includes everything from wedding to reception and photos and flowers...

Your daughter is lucky!
