The principle of Darwin was evolution which means over time animals, plants, organisms etc.. will evolve to their surroundings. He also had "The survival of the fittest" which meant only the strongest animals or plants would be able to evolve sufficently to adapt to their enviornment. If you would like to research further I would suggest you do some research on Darwin's finches which is probably his best known work on evoulution.
