He tells you he loves you for the first time and he is drunk. Did he mean it or was it the liquor talking ?

It was the liquor talking. Alcohol lowers your inhibitions and let's you say things that you are thinking but wouldn't normally say. I'm not saying he didn't mean it, he probably did, and the alcohol just let him get his courage up.

That's the same as saying you can have my house and my car and all my clothes....yeah that's the liquor talking. Your brain could be so disoriented that you would say anything, do anything and most of the time end up anywhere.
Then again some ppl can handle their liquor and be able to talk to you better when their a little Intoxicated. So you have to know the person and their level of how drunk Is drunk where they are just talking and not even paying attention to themselves.

I am a guy and it can't be taken seriously.
If he really meens it he will tell you when he is sober. Though the old saying is that the truth comes out when someone is drunk I do not believe that is really the case.
I haven't told my girlfrined that I love her yet but when I do I am going to do it sober and try to make it really special and memorible.

I wouldn't put too much thought into what people say when they are drunk. I would just wait and see if he says it again when he is sober. Sometimes people don't have the courage to expose their feelings unless they are drunk, but u just never know. Don't bring it up, that will only make him feel stupid, just have patience and wait and see how it goes.

It could be both ways. But if my girlfriend told me she loved me while she was drunk. I would discard it. I would want my partner to tell me when she's sound and comprehensible. Because then I know it cmes from the heart. "I love you" is a strong three word phrase. You can't just "SAY" It...you have to mean it. And in order for another to say that and mean it .. it has to come from the heart.

That's a hard one, Because sometimes when you drink you get the courage to say things your afraid to normally say, but then there are the times when you say things because your drunk and you regret them. I would tread carefully on this one and just forget I heard it and wait for the sober I love you. Good Luck to you.

It's hard to say. Some people get really honest when they are drinking and others just say things they don't realize. How long have you been together. My boyfriend gets over emotional when he drinks and tells me over and over again how much he loves me, he also tells me when he is sober it's just not so exaggerated I guess. I think for some people their inhibitions are down so they aren't afraid to speak their mind or afraid of your reaction. Tell him what he said when he's sober and see what he says.

all depends on the person. i kno when i'm drunk it's a truth serium. if i tell you i love u when i'm drunk i really mean it but maybe i didnt know it or never told anyone. he could be like this... or it may be the booze
